Our circuit builder simulation package and virtual hydraulic test rigs are not the same as AmeSim, FluidSim, or similar simulation packages. They cost and perform quite differently. Users must select the one that best fits their needs and almost certainly start with our program before moving on to the dynamic simulation packages as they progress. It's likely that switch will only happen at advanced maintenance technician to experienced design engineer stage.
With dynamic simulations it's far too easy to use incorrect parameters, such as valve leakage, which leads to incorrect results. These programs are best used by experienced design engineers who understand the complex component detail and have the time to build competent circuits that will avoid potential performance errors. Students new to hydraulics are likely to spend more time learning the program than the hydraulics and very few people use these programs in industry.

Thank you very much for this post.I tried the free fluid software, I searched also for a couple other programms and regarding free and a user friendly interface draw.io is very good. The hydraulic elements which can be found on the lower left more shapes => Fluid Power and Proc Eng. are limited. But symbols and images can be added, there is a scratchpad and the workflow is very intuitive. I think it is worth mentioning.

Abstract:AUV docking devices have the ability to achieve homing of the AUV, supply the AUV with energy, and exchange data with it, thus improving the endurance and ensuring the continuous long-term and large-scale operation of the AUV. To improve the successful docking rate of the AUV, a funnel-shaped underwater docking device with multi-degree freedom based on a deep-sea platform was designed in this paper. The heading angle, pitch angle, and roller angle of the docking device could be adjusted in a timely manner according to the current flow direction and the position of the AUV. In order to realize the timely adjustment of the heading angle, pitch angle, and roll angle of the docking device, a set of underwater hydraulic systems was developed as the power source to drive the corresponding hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic motors, and other executive components. The model of the heading angle adjustment circuit of the hydraulic system was established and the open-loop transfer function of the heading angle adjustment circuit was derived. The dynamic response performance of the hydraulic circuit was simulated and the optimized PID algorithm was used to improve the dynamic response performance. Finally, the accuracy of the heading angle adjustment circuit model and the effectiveness of the control algorithm were validated by experiment of the docking device in a water pool.Keywords: AUV docking device; hydraulic drive system; modelling and simulation; PID control algorithm; experimental validation
