While Turkey had responded to China’s allegations by imposing a trade embargo on Chinese goods, it was China that offered Turkey a Yuan loan of 6 trillion Turkish liras (approximately 1.8 billion USD).

In the light of Turkey’s trade embargo and the fact that it has no access to international markets, Turkey should not be dependent on China’s offer. Turkey needs to step up its investments in order to provide its citizens with better services, greater stability, and economic security.

Turkey must find alternative sources of economic opportunities if the offer of Yuan loans is turned down. The country’s agricultural sector needs to be supported, strengthened, and enriched.
